Since March 2025 Tong Zhang is a guest researcher at the Centre for Modern East Asian Studies. He holds a position as Assistant Professor at BI Norwegian Business School. His research spans the sociology of religion, sociology of science, philosophy of science, and international politics. With a focus on Max Weber’s interpretivist approach, he examines the impacts of secularization, the transformation of social science after World War II, and the divergent developmental trajectories of the West and East Asia.
